For most of us, the new year is a time for renewed vision, and inspired motivation. Although majority of it is short lived, sometimes it can be meaningful. The hardest part about making meaningful plans is the process of writing it down. Most people hate to read let alone write something down. Heck, a lot of people probably didn't even make it past the title of this blog. The thought alone of writing out plans seems tedious and time consuming.
The reality is that lots of people have great ideas and great intentions but most people never follow through. The top reasons people have for not following through are:
1. Need for validation
2. Fear of perception
3. Lack of resources
4. Too much talk
It's likely that you have fallen into one of these categories at least once or twice in your lifetime. Myself included. It's not an uncommon thing, but it often separates the dreamers from the doers. There is nothing wrong with dreaming but like most dreams they fade and become forgotten if they are not intentionally remembered. In the case of business and ministry the best way to remember a vision and execute it, is to write it down.
In Habakkuk 2:2 it states, "Then the LORD replied: Write down the revelation and make it plain on tablets so that a herald may run with it." Simply put... Write the vision make it plain... A concept we have often heard, but rarely follow. Most people just skip that step and jump to seeking resources, or promoting. Especially as an influencer, we are often better at marketing a vision than we are at crafting the message. Marketing is a very important step but there is a certain level of seriousness that happens when you have a clear message written out, and ready to share. We often cut ourselves off from resources and people when we are missing that component.
So for 2020, start your vision off right and write it down. Then, dont waste time seeking others approval of what God has already given you authority to do.
Think. Pray. Execute.
